Lindsay Lohan's Electronic Monitoring Device Goes Off

Lindsay Lohan's Electronic Monitoring Device Goes Off

Lindsay Lohan was visited by police Monday, after her house-arrest monitoring system went off. According to the Los Angeles Times, cops headed to Lohan's Venice Townhouse, where they found her watching TV and reading scripts.

"Lindsay's electronic monitoring system went off on Monday," Lohan's attorney, Shawn Chapman Holley, said Thursday in a statement. "When a representative from the monitoring company went to her home, the representative found Lindsay there. The equipment was replaced the following day."

Lohan is currently serving 35 days under house arrest, after her conviction for shoplifting a necklace from a Venice jewelry store in January.

While the 24-year-old is generally confined to her spacious home, Lohan is allowed to leave for doctor's appointments and to check in with the probation department. She is able to receive outside visitors, but if she leaves the premises without authorization, the ankle bracelet will alert authorities.

Lohan was originally sentenced to four months in jail but, due to overcrowding, was given house arrest instead.
