Charlie Sheen Wants $100 Million Lawsuit Tried in Public

Charlie Sheen may be the first celebrity in history who actually wants to turn his legal troubles into a media circus.

Earlier this month, Sheen filed a $100 million lawsuit against Warner Bros. and Two and a Half Men producer Chuck Lorre, seeking damages for breach of contract. But while the TV executives are trying to settle the suit quietly via arbitration, the show's former star wants nothing less than a full judge and jury.

According to E!, Sheen's attorney claims that his client's rights are being violated by arbitration, which he calls "a misguided maneuver to attempt to obtain a strategic advantage."

On Wednesday, a judge shot down Sheen's first attempt to halt arbitration, saying that "no 'emergency' existed" and Sheen needed to "follow normal procedure." But as we know, Sheen doesn't like taking "no" for an answer. His lawyers are seeking an injunction, and another hearing will take place on July 6.

Then there's the matter of the show itself. Even if the creators of Two and a Half Men win the money dispute, can their show go on without Sheen? There are rumors that CBS boss Les Moonves was trying to woo Sheen back, but there's about a 0 percent chance of that actually happening. The latest rumored replacement for Sheen is Entourage actor Jeremy Piven. Piven's reps are denying that the actor was approached, and we're guessing the show is trying for a bigger name -- but we can totally see Piven as a good fit to fill the void left by exiting Uncle Charlie.

Meanwhile, Sheen's friends continue to stand by him in the media. Kiefer Sutherland, who costarred with Sheen in Young Guns and The Three Musketeers, says that he's sure Charlie will come out on top.

"I know Charlie as a really funny, talented, loyal, fiercely loyal guy. And clearly people are concerned about him and worried about him," Sutherland told the ladies of The View. The 24 star said that he hadn't been following Sheen's public breakdown too closely, but that he had faith in his friend.

"I mean, he's one of those cats that always seem to land on his feet," said Sutherland. "I wish him the best. I care a lot about him."

Kiefer has had some embarrassing public breakdowns of his own, like the time he was captured on film drunkenly tackling a Christmas tree. The difference is that Kiefer was humiliated by his behavior, whereas Sheen is now referring to himself as a levitating warlock on Twitter. Honestly, we don't blame Charlie's friends for not knowing what to make of this whole spectacle. Even in the crazy world of Hollywood, no one has ever seen anything like it.
