Things are getting nasty between Celebrity Apprentice costars Lisa Rinna and Star Jones.
The two women first rubbed each other the wrong way during a children's book writing task on Donald Trump's reality show, resulting in Rinna's firing in the boardroom. But not before the Harry Loves Lisa star blamed Jones for her team's failure, claiming that she tried to take full credit for the creation of their kids' story.
Now, Jones has hired lawyers to take on Rinna, who, she says, has been badmouthing her, slamming her through Twitter, and sending her nasty emails since the show wrapped. Claiming she is being "harassed" by the actress, the former View host did her homework, and gathered evidence of Rinna's attacks and turned them over to NBC's legal department.
Rinna has yet to comment on the situation, and has since taken down the tweets in question (including this photo of Rinna posing with a rubber monster mask with the caption, "Me and Star Jones sans make up"). But Jones claims that these actions are "evidence of (Rinna's) instability."
NBC declined to comment on the situation, and though Jones is definitely putting up a fight, her rep told E! News, "Star declined to make the cause of concern public as to not take away from her purpose of doing the show, which is charity."
Meanwhile, a source close to Jones says she is "taking this very seriously."
"Lisa was so furious she was kicked off so early and blamed it all on Star. Lisa went home and started sending nasty emails. Star just collected it all and handed them over. It's in legal's hands now and they've warned Lisa to stop," the insider continued.
Yet, through all of this, the Jones pal says Star may still be holding back just a bit.
"Star hasn't taken the behind-the-scenes fight public because she thinks it would ruin Lisa."
